A Day for the Record Books

Yesterday was John's first official day at UTMB. He completed all of his human resources paperwork and got the information on his first project. His project has something to do with a protien called saccin that is implicated in motor disorders. His research will have practical effects in a spastic axatia disorder of Canada. That is about all I understand from the project. Today, John was going to start his actual lab work. For more information on his research mentor (Dr. Jose Barral) and his projects, you can visit http://www.utmb.edu/ncb/Faculty/BarralJose.html. Overall, John was really pumped about his first day. I think he will really enjoy this school.

The highlight of my day came when I washed my first load of dishes in my new diswasher. For those of you who were wondering, they came out sweeky clean. The glasses didn't even have streaks!!! In other news, I applied for a job at Maceo Spices and Imports. It looks like a promising prospect.
