This year we said goodbye to my Grandma Ensz (1924 to 2009). This poem was in her program and it was very appropriate. This was the last pictures we had of her during her recent hospital stay.
Christmas in Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees
Around the world below,
With tiny lights like heaven's stars
Reflecting in the snow.
The sight is so spectacular
please wipe away that tear,
for I am spending CHRISTMAS
WITH JESUS CHRIST this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs
that people hold so dear,
but the sound of music can't compare
with the CHRISTMAS CHOIR up here.
I have no words to tell you
of the JOY their voices bring,
for it is beyond description
to HEAR THE ANGELS SING.
I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart
But, I am not so far away,
We really aren't apart.
I can't tell you of the SPLENDOR
or the PEACE here in this place
Can you just imagine CHRISTMAS
WITH OUR SAVIOR face to face?
I'll ask Him to lift your spirit
as I tell him of your love
so then PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
as you lift your eyes above.
Please let your hearts be joyful
and let your spirit sing
for I am spending CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN
and I’m walking WITH THE KING.

Erica- This is such a wonderful poem. I read it last Christmas right after my mom had passed away and it is a wonderful reminder of how they (your grandma and my mom) get to spend Christmas with Jesus. I hope your family is all well this Christmas season!
God Bless,
Mandi Ridenour
love that poem. what a wonderful christmas i bet she is having right now :)
I was so sorry to hear of Mrs. Ensz' passing. But at the same time I was rejoicing cuz I knew without a doubt that she was beside her Jesus and with her sweet, sweet husband again. They both were very special people in my life and I will never forget them!

Erika and John, I happened to see your blog and started reading it. I enjoy the pictures of the two of you and like the fact that you share this blog. I met the love of my life, about 6 years ago. We started a long distance friendship/love affair from Colorado, where I lived, and Florida where Danny lived. We met, traveled back and forth. he met and became friends with my son, Bobby, who died shortly after. I moved to Florida, we married and have lived full time in an Rv. We live, work and Play at a great state park. I can't wait to read more. Sarah
Erica, I love your poem "Christmas in Heaven". I smiled because my son is up there with your grandma. Sarah
