Christmas is in the Air

John and I recently enjoyed a wintery trip to Wichita for Thanksgiving. However, I can tell you the only Chirstmas snow we will see around here for a while was the snow brought in for the Dickens on the Strand event in Galveston. It was placed in the middle of the Strand district in a 30 X 30 square, available "until the snow melts". The kids and their parents loved it. Yes, John and I braved the 50 degree weather yesterday for a cup of wassail and street carolers on the Strand. It was a fun event, where people dress up as those from Dicken's era. The tickets were a gift from my mom for my birthday. Here you see me trying on a hat from back in the day. We also celebrated Christmas with the other MD/PhD students on Friday at the Hotel Galvez. They had a nice meal, door prizes, t-shirts, and a DJ. Finally, I hope to continue celebrating Christmas with the Festival of Light at Moody Garden. I haven't asked John yet, but once it is on the internet he will have to go, right?
Last but not least, a couple of pictures from Thanksgiving:
We were in Kansas from late Wednesday night to Sunday afternoon. We spent alot of time with family. This was John's first trip home since Kellie's wedding. We were able to see, from Thursday to Sunday: my parents, John's parents, Brian and Cristy and Gracen and little "brudder", all of the grandparents (except for grandmother and grandad), and a 50th birthday party for my dad. Whoo. We were tired when we got back, but it was nice to see everyone. These pictures are from dad's 50th birthday party, which about 50 people attended.

It was wondeful seeing you a little at Thanksgiving. You were very busy trying to get everyone in. You both look so great!!1 I am anxious to see you at Christmas time. I am trying to decide what to get everyone. I do have the house decorated with a little help from Grandpa.
