Home Sweet Home?

Well, it is that time of year again. It is time for John and I to move. He has lived in 6 different houses in the last 5 years. I have lived in 5 different homes in the last 5 years. We are hoping this will be the last year for our annual moves (until we leave Galveston). We are looking to rent again, and we have the homes narrowed own to three. Here they are:This house is on the West end of the Island. It would come with a small dock and is located right on a water canal. It would have a nice view, but it is a little small. Also, it is about 25 minutes from UTMB, which would add up to alot of time and gas. It is at the lower end of the price range though. I imagine that this would be a favorite home for our potential guests. This house is bigger with 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. It has hardwood floors throughout and a nice big back yard. It is only 2 blocks from the beach. It has very tall ceilings, but it is at the upper end of our price range and the appliances and extras are not all that great.
Finally, a home that is close to UTMB. This is the house we are leaning towards renting. It is at the lower end of the price range and it is completely remodelled. It is close enough to UTMB that we could walk or bike every day. (This way we could drop our parking another $85 discount.) It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, with 2 porches. This nice big porch on the front with an enclosed porch on the back. The appliances, floors, walls, kitchen, everything is new. The only down side it that it is a little smaller than we wanted to commit to for 6 years.

What do you think?

i vote for the last one too. it's got not one (1), but two (2) porches AND not 1 (one), but 2 (two) bathrooms. everything is remodeled, and erika, if you were a realtor, you'd have sold that thing to me already.

A vote from Dad -
number 3 - with beach front property.

I'm really not for following the crowd, but the house closes to UTMB does seem to be a nice option and you would enjoy a house over an apartment, even if it is a little smaller. By the way - it's a cute little house!

I will just pray for God to firmly close the door on anything he doesn't have for you....and I would go for what you know you will be the most comfortable with(in all aspects of the word) for 6 years. It will be your home, so which one seems more like a home to you?
Love you!

I go with the last one. John really needs to get on that bike or start walking.

Maybe you could tell but I was the one that wrote the last one. I forgot to sign my name. Love,Mom (Vicki)

Grandpa said that the one you like the best is the one to get. He said it sounds like the last one being closer to school seems to meet the need.

You both make good decisions and we would be happy to visit you in any of them!!!!

well i am SURE not the one to tell you guys what house to get. I can't even decide what house we should get!! this house thing is too much pressure! dont you think? But I really like all of them!! they are really really cute!! I like the way they all look on the outside. Sorry I can't be much help! :) Let us know what you decide. We will stay in any of them this summer...or this fall :)

go affordable! coming from a person who will fit 4 people into a 2 1/2 bd, 1 ba! smaller space keeps your bills low and keeps you from accumulating stuff. Plus, everything is new! and the last thing you guys need after studying all night is a drive the next morning. make the guests suffer!!! we don't mind :o) Cristy
ps--did mom really say that? ouch.
